Norwich Union home insurancecustomers who buy buildings insurance and contents insurance together will receive up to £50,000 of contents cover free.

The offer is available on all new Norwich Union buildings and contents home insurance policies as long as customers have not made a claim on their current buildings insurance or contents insurance for at least three years.

Meanwhile, all new More Than home insurance customers can get free contents insurance worth £75,000 when they buy buildings insurance, as well as a 25 per cent discount for buying online.

And Norwich Union and More Than are not the only insurers to offer a New Year home insurance deal; Direct Line home insurance is offering new customers 50 per cent off.

“Being pennywise when buying your policy could lead to being exposed when it comes to making a claim, if you find you’re left with not enough cover for your needs, or worse, with no cover at all,” said Andrew Lowe, head of Direct Line Home Insurance.

“We’re giving new customers 50 per cent off their home contents insurance to show that it’s possible to get a good deal on home insurance and still feel safe in the knowledge that they are covered by a policy with enough cover to suit their needs.”

Churchill home insurance is also offering a deal to new customers – up to 50 per cent off.

All new customers will receive a 25 per cent discount on their buildings and contents insurance, and if they haven’t made a claim for five years, this goes up to 50 per cent discount.
