Post Office Cuts Travel Insurance To Encourage People To Take Out Proper Cover

From July 2nd until August 31st, the Post Office annual travel multi-trip policies will be cut by £10 per person and single trip policies for six days or more will be reduced by £5 per person in an attempt to encourage people to tae out adequate cover.

A recent study by the Post Office revealed that 47% of people admitted to going on holiday without insurance – 55% in London – with 46% saying they don’t bother with it because it is an unnecessary expense.14% of people say they simply forgot.

“The amount of people who have admitted to going on holiday with any cover at all is extremely alarming, said Kevin McAdam, head of travel at the Post Office.

“Our figures prove that travel insurance is all too often forgotten in the excitement of getting ready to go on holiday, or even worse, it is considered by some to be non-essential.

“But something as commonplace as a lost bag or visit to a doctor abroad could see a person shelling out hundreds of pounds if they don’t have insurance. Why take the risk?”
