2018’s most popular income plan now offering up to 8.0% p.a. interest…

“Do you want to know what our most popular income plan has been this year? Well, it is Investec’s Defensive Income Plan, and not only does it offer the opportunity for a high level of interest, but this is paid even if the FTSE falls almost 20% or 40% (depending on which plan option you invest in).

One option offers 8% per year unless the FTSE falls 20%, the other offers 6% per year unless the FTSE falls 40%, with the value of the FTSE measured at the end of each quarter and compared with its value at the start of the plan (subject to averaging). If the Index closes below these levels, no income is paid for that quarter.

The plan has a maximum term of 8 years, but also offers the opportunity to receive your initial capital back in full before then, if the FTSE has risen by more than 5% at the end of each year, from year 2 onwards. If the plan does not end early, your initial capital is returned in full provided the FTSE has not fallen by more than 40% at the end of the plan term. If it has fallen below this level, your capital will be reduced by 1% for each 1% fall, so you could lose some or all of your initial investment.

With the recent increase to a headline yield of up to 8.0% interest, we expect this issue to be very popular indeed.”
