AmEx offers wheel value with new credit cards

American Express has partnered with world-famous car manufacturer BMW to launch two co-branded products – the BMW Card and the Mini Card.

The two different credit card offerings are catered towards owners of the respective cars, giving consumers a customised rewards programme related to the vehicle they own or buy.

Typical APR on both products is 9.9 per cent (variable), with the added incentive of free monthly prize draw entries when you spend on the cards. One entry is made for every £10 spent each month, with new members automatically earning 10 entries in the first month.

BMW Rewards offers customers the chance to win a VIP trip to the Italian Grand Prix or the Leipzig BMW plant, while Rewards by Mini is giving away a luxury visit to Los Angeles in addition to the chance to stay at the unique Ice Hotel in Lapland, among other prizes.

"The Mini and BMW credit cards from American Express put card members in the driving seat – quite literally," said Kate Harris, vice president of UK partnerships at American Express.

Ms Harris added that the specially customised rewards schemes, which offer additional entries for the prize draws for spending at petrol stations or dealerships "mean these are the cards of choice for those who feel a connection to Mini and BMW".
