Households urged to review utility bills

01 January 2008 / by None
Homeowners are being urged to review their utility bills and shop around for better deals in order to save money in the new year.

The price comparison site says that since energy prices are likely to continue rising in 2008 now is a good time to switch providers.

"If you haven't switched, then get out your energy bills, work out how much you've paid in 2007, then find a better deal for 2008," said chairman Jim Spowart.

He pointed out that by being prepared and shopping around now homeowners can get ahead of the game and avoid paying higher bills later in the year.

Meanwhile warns that energy providers are failing to inform consumers of new cheaper tariffs meaning many could be left paying more than they need to.

It claims the average family could save around £150 a year on their energy bills by switching to a better deal with their current supplier.
