Environmentally-aware drivers can opt to offset 100 per cent of their emissions with car insurance from the Green Insurance Company.

In addition to offsetting the carbon emissions by planting trees and investing in renewable resources, Green Insurance Company donates five per cent of its profits to charity and offers a 'low emissions' five per cent discount to drivers of fuel-efficient cars.

A Green Insurance Company car insurance policy can help not only to save the environment, but can save motorists money, offering a 12.5 per cent online discount, various other special offers and discounts, and optional cover so that car owners can choose the cover they need.

Those who harbour concerns about the effect their car is having on the environment can help reduce their carbon footprint while still getting a competitive range of cover, which includes third party, fire and theft, or comprehensive which encompasses a guaranteed courtesy car, 24 hour accident and windscreen claims line, damage caused by fire, theft or vandalism, and damage caused to other people's property.

The Green Insurance Company also offers other tips on how to be green and save money, such as slowing down to 50 miles per hour which uses an average of 30 per cent less fuel than travelling at 70 miles per hour.

The environmentally-aware company will soon provide ways of leasing a green car to reduce your carbon footprint, and switching to a green energy provider; it has also teamed up with Envirophone to offer a mobile phone recycling service which pays people not to throw their old phones away.
