TSB Mortgages offer £1,000 towards moving costs

12 June 2014 / by Isabel Buxton

TSB Mortgages has launched a new offer where it will pay the Stamp Duty for mortgage borrowers buying a home costing between £125,001 and £250,000.

There’s good news for those who are buying a property that’s over or under this value too - TSB will give you £1,000 towards your moving costs, paid as cashback on completion of the mortgage.

A helping hand from TSB Mortgages

Whether you're a first time buyer or moving home, buying a new home can be costly – so this time-limited deal from TSB could help you with some of the expenses of buying a new home.

You will benefit from paid Stamp Duty Land Tax when taking out a mortgage over 75% and up to 90% Loan to Value (LTV) where the property purchase price is between £125,001 and up to £250,000.

  • If you take out a mortgage between 75% and 95% LTV, and the value of your property purchase is less than £125,000, you could get £1,000 to help with moving costs
  • If you take out a mortgage between 75% and 95% LTV, and the value of your property purchase is less than £125,000, you could get your stamp duty paid for you
  • If you take out a mortgage between 75% and 95% LTV, and the value of your property purchase is less than £125,000 £250,001 to £1 million, you could get £1,000 to help with moving costs

How does it work?

If you are eligible for stamp duty relief, the Stamp Duty Land Tax payment will be passed to your chosen conveyancer by TSB alongside the completion of funds. The conveyancer then makes the Stamp Duty Land Tax payment on your behalf.

However, not every property buyer will be eligible for this offer from TSB – buy to let, shared ownership and shared equity mortgages are not included. Even so, you can compare over 5,000 top mortgage deals using out free comparison service, so you’re sure to find a mortgage deal that is right for you.
