Active managed funds are a type of collective investment that offer investment in a range of assets, this type of investment fund will primarily invest in equities and fixed interest assets such as corporate bonds. Funds may also invest in other assets and may use other investment strategies.
Active managed funds will have a fund manager directing the investment strategy, and will normally actively buy and sell stocks rather than just using a buy and hold strategy, or aiming to replicate an index.
There are a variety of options for investing in active managed funds, including ethical funds, absolute return funds which seek to provide a level of return independent of wider market conditions, and funds offering capital growth and a level of income.
You can invest in a wide range of active managed funds through the Fair Investment ISA and Investment Account, and SIPP.
