Equity ISAs
Equity ISAs
Equity ISAs are Stocks and Shares ISAs – as opposed to the other form of individual savings account, the Cash ISA.
Unlike Cash ISAs, which allow you to invest up to £3,600 in cash into the savings account to be protected from tax, equity ISAs allow you to invest up to £7,200 (depending on whether or not you have already invested into a Cash ISA) in the form of stocks and shares, either directly or through other trusts.
Benefits of equity ISAs:
-
You can invest up to £7,200 per tax year
-
You can protect any income or capital gains on the investment from tax.
-
You may hold an equity, or Stocks and Shares ISA and a Cash ISA, as long as you do not exceed the total tax free allowance of £7,200 (you may invest upto £3,600 in cash)
Equity ISAs are available to any UK resident of age 18 or over - for a selection of ISAs currently available, get your FREE ISA Brochures or check out the table below:

Please bear in mind that:
Investment ISAs are designed as medium to long term investments, for example at least five years.
The value of your investment and the level of any income received from it can fall as well as rise and is not guaranteed and you may not get back the amount of your original investment.
The tax efficiency of ISAs is based on current tax law and there is no guarantee that tax rules will stay the same in the future.
If you choose an index-tracking trust which invests overseas, exchange rate variations may cause the value of your investment to increase or decrease.
If you unsure what Investment ISA plan is right for you speak to an independent investment adviser.
