Fixed Rate ISAs
Fixed Rate ISAs
Fixed rate ISAs offer tax-free investments that are guaranteed to have a specific interest rate over the course of a defined period. Since the interest rate is fixed, you will know up-front exactly what you will earn over the lifetime of the ISA.
There is no need to worry about fluctuating rates that might decrease the growth in your investment with fixed rate ISAs. Equally, however, if interest rates would otherwise rise and thus increase the worth of your investment, the rate on your ISA will remain the same and you will not benefit from such a change.
Fixed rate ISAs possess all the usual advantages of an Individual Savings Account:
- No tax on income from the ISA.
- No tax on capital gains from the ISA.
- When the policy pays out, there is no tax to pay on it.
- Up to £3,600 in cash can be invested in a Cash ISA each tax year, with the remainder of the total £7,200 ISA allowance available for investment in a Stocks and Shares ISA.

Please bear in mind that:
Investment ISAs are designed as medium to long term investments, for example at least five years.
The value of your investment and the level of any income received from it can fall as well as rise and is not guaranteed and you may not get back the amount of your original investment.
The tax efficiency of ISAs is based on current tax law and there is no guarantee that tax rules will stay the same in the future.
If you choose an index-tracking trust which invests overseas, exchange rate variations may cause the value of your investment to increase or decrease.
