For customers that may be considering switching over to a new current account, HSBC offer a range of options including a Basic Account - This service has many of the features that would commonly be expected from a normal account, the HSBC basic bank account offers features that are simple and easy to use and are intended customers who will only need to make basic transactions. Standard Account - This account is the next step up from the basic bank account offered by HSBC. Extra features include free telephone and online banking, and access to overdraft services, although this will be subject to terms and conditions.

Student Bank Account

A student current account grants customers free overdraft facilities of up to £3000 pounds, as well as free telephone and online banking. As part of this arrangement, students may also get 25% of lonely planet guides. This offer ends 31 March 2012.

Graduate Account

A graduate HSBC current account is intended to make the transition from studying to a career that much easier for recent graduates. This account will grant customers access to a regular savers account, free mobile banking services and a graduate loan for up to 5 years following graduation.
