There is no such thing as an interest free credit card, but many providers offer 0% APR introductory periods as an incentive to sign up to their credit card deal.

Providers that offer interest free credit cards will only do so as part of other conditions, or for limited periods, but having 0% APR, even if it is only for a short time, can provide very useful flexibility for you and your finances, especially if you need to make a large purchase or transfer that you will need a few months to pay back in full.

If you do take advantage of this 0% offer, it is important that you know when the benefits of your interest free credit card run out, because a full rate of interest will be charged on the balance of the card every day on from that date.

When looking for an interest free credit card for a limited period, make sure you consider:

  • The Balance transfer APR
  • The Balance Transfer period
  • The Standard APR i.e. the rate at which interest is charged after 0% APR period ends
