If you think you have been a victim of credit card overcharging by your card company, then there are ways that you can recoup the money. You can take your credit card overcharging claim to the Financial Ombudsman or the small claims court but you may be able to settle your claim without resorting to the courts:

First ensure you have all required statements – remember you can claim for a period of up to six years and your card company can supply the statements you no longer have (they will charge a small fee for this)
Contact your credit card company by post and request a refund of the charges
If you haven’t received a reply within two weeks offering a full or partial refund or rejection, you are then in a position to consider taking your complaint to the small claims court
