Share dealing ISAs offer a flexible way of investing in stocks and shares. You can invest the full ISA allowance each tax year and your investment will be protected from tax.

With share dealing ISAs – also known as self select stocks and shares ISAs – you may be able to trade in a wide range of investments and different markets. This could include:

  • stocks and shares
  • bonds
  • gilts
  • Exchange Traded Funds

As well as being able to directly trade equities listed in the UK you may also be able to buy and sell shares in international markets.

There are two types of ISA, and you may have one of each, up to your total ISA allowance:

  • Cash ISAs, in which you may invest up to half of your ISA allowance
  • Stocks and shares ISAs, in which you may invest the remainder of your allowance, or all of it.  Share dealing ISAs are a type of stocks and shares ISA.
