Halifax current account holders are being given ‘rewards’ from today, which could net them a saving of more than £350.  

The ‘rewards’, which are available to any Halifax current account holder who funds their current account with £1,000 or more each month, gives customers access to a number of exclusive product deals.

Presently, customers of Halifax’s Rewards Current Account receive 12 monthly reward payments of £5 for funding their account with £1,000 or more each month, which equates to a £60 saving per year.

Following the launch of Halifax’s new ‘reward’s’ range, current account holders can benefit from an additional 0.2 per cent interest on a wide range of variable rate savings products for one year.

In addition, existing customers who take up a mortgage with Halifax can enjoy at least a 0.2 per cent reduction on the interest rate, which based on the average mortgage of £115,700, could mean a saving of more than £230 in the first year.

Meanwhile, Halifax’s All in One credit card is offering an extra three months at 0 per cent on purchases to current account holders, which could deliver a saving of nearly £50, based on the average monthly spend of £210.
