PAYG mobile phone searches up 40% says moneysupermarket.com

Internet searches for pay-as-you-go (PAYG) mobile phones have shot up by 40 per cent in the last two months according to moneysupermarket.com.

The data which was collected between October and December this year suggests that pay-as-you-go mobile phones are top of the Christmas wish list for many this year.

Commenting, James Parker, manager of mobile phones at moneysupermarket.com said: “The PAYG market has become very competitive and the host of deals on offer make them a good Christmas gift, particularly for children wanting their first phone.

“The surge in interest for these kinds of deals also shows people are looking at ways to manage their budget in these tough times.”
