Green Flag seeks to avoid breakdown blues

17 August 2005

Green Flag Motoring Assistance says that British drivers can help alleviate the traditional bank holiday rush by ensuring they drive safely and keep their focus.

The insurer says that it is worth thinking about how to stay focussed on the bank holiday weekend and considering any potential pitfalls after receiving 15,000 calls last year.

Green Flag breakdown says that while many incidents are unavoidable, most call outs are simple issues such as flat batteries.

Simply by considering some of the practical steps that can be taken to prepare ini advance, the insurer says drivers can help slash the number of incidents likely to take place over the bank holiday.

Those returning the day after the bank holiday – on the Tuesday – were the group with the highest concentration of call outs.
