The Institute of Financial Services (IFS) has updated all of its study aids and learning material to be consistent with the new Pension Tax Simplification rules which will come into force on A-Day.

From now on any students who study for the Certificate for Financial Advisers (CeFA) or the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) will have to be familiar with the new legislation.

The IFS has made its updated study material available for download on its student website, and it has also launched a new Competence Development Tool CD Rom in both the CeFA and CeMAP versions.

Mark Roberts, head of faculty financial regulation at the IFS, said: “Preparations for A-Day have been underway for some time and it is essential for both qualified advisers and those studying for professional exams to be up-to-date with the new regulations.

“The redesigned Competence Development Tool enables advisers to test their knowledge of the new rules in the post A-Day environment.”
